• First Avenue and Fitch Street

Chippawa Park is a destination park, from athletics to floral gardens, historical monuments and more. The gardens feature a variety of roses that are the perfect backdrop for weddings, photography, picnics, or part of an evening stroll. Athletes of all abilities gather to play beach volleyball or a friendly baseball game, while others head to the pavilions, splash pad, or under the large trees for shade.

You can find the Welland Crowland War memorial at the park's highest elevation. The cenotaph is unique for featuring a soldier and a woman to symbolize the service and sacrifice element of war, dedicated to those who fought and supported the war effort at home.

• 130 Glenwood Pkwy

This park has a lot to offer in Dain City, the southernmost part of Welland. Amenities include picnic areas with pavilions, a splash pad, a baseball diamond, a basketball court, and a play structure for children.

• St. George Street, off Broadway

Located in the City's southwest section, this park is one families always want to return to. Amenities include picnic areas with pavilions, an Olympic-size pool, a wading pool, a play structure for children, and plenty of off-road parking.

• South Pelham Road, south of Thorold Road

Located in the south-central section of the City, this community park is undergoing many changes and additions. Currently, the park is home to one of our Olympic-size pools, a wading pool, and a sizeable passive park area.

The City of Welland received a non-repayable contribution of $313,797 from the Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), to construct new, accessible washrooms at Maple Park. The renovations included a number of upgrades including a separate storage space, the installation of a hard-surface pathway leading to the washroom from the nearby splash pad and street and beautification of the area with garbage/recycling bins, trees and "Let's Chat" benches for safe outdoor public enjoyment and age-friendly interaction.

• Memorial Park Drive and Ontario Road

Located in the southeast end of the City, adjacent to the Welland Canal, this park offers families an excellent environment to meet, play, and hold family reunions. Amenities include a splash pad, swimming pool, five pavilions and numerous softball fields.

• 151 King Street

Home to the Welland Canal monument, this park is located on King Street, across from the Welland Historical Museum. The park is passive in design and features rose gardens, shrubs, and trees; a park for relaxing, reading, and viewing the nearby recreational waterway.

Within the park is a 750-seat natural amphitheatre cut into the east bank of the waterway. It serves as permanent seating for local musical and theatrical events. The stone-stepped amphitheatre overlooks a floating stage on the water and the scenery of the canal. Annual music festivals are held here during the summer months.

• Behind Civic Square

Rotary Club of Welland Park is a summer enthusiast's dream come true; from picnicking to skateboarding, this park offers fun for the entire family.

Whether you want to watch the calm waters while sitting on the bright yellow lounge chairs, visit Rec Rentals @ the Docks and explore the canal, dive into the water from the swim docks, or enjoy a picnic, this park has what you're looking for.

• Ontario Road and Prince Charles Drive

A large and small dog fenced-in playground for your furry friends is located adjacent to the recreational canal. The park is equipped with benches and a specialty water fountain for your pup to have a refreshing drink. Parking is free.

Park rules:

• open dawn to dusk
• up-to-date rabies and licence tags required
• use the off-leash area at your own risk
• leash your dog while entering and exiting
• keep your dog within sight and under verbal control
• children under 16 years of age must be supervised by an adult
• no glass containers, food, or toys
• clean up after your dog
• no puppies under four months, female dogs in heat, sick dogs, aggressive dogs, or dogs that require muzzling
• off-leash area users are subject to the Dog Owners Liability Act and applicable municipal by-laws
