Lights, Frights, and Sights Tour returns to Welland this Halloween

Welland neighbourhoods will light up for Halloween once again as the Lights, Frights, and Sights Tour returns for its second year, giving residents another opportunity to transform their homes into creative displays for the community to enjoy.

Applications to participate open Monday, September 28, and close Friday, October 9. The self-guided tour will run from Friday, October 16, to Saturday, October 31, featuring participating homes on a digital map that residents and visitors can use to plan their route.

Introduced in 2025, Lights, Frights, and Sights proved to be a popular way for the community to celebrate Halloween and showcase the creativity of Welland residents. Welland Hydro returns as a sponsor of the tour this year. Participating homes will also receive lawn signs featuring a QR code that takes visitors directly to the Engage Welland page, making it easier to vote for their favourite display while exploring the tour.

“Residents really brought the inaugural tour to life, and we’re looking forward to seeing what they create this year,” said Erin Carl, supervisor of festival and events. “It’s an opportunity for people to have some fun with Halloween, explore Welland’s neighbourhoods, and see the creativity happening across the community.”

Residents interested in adding their home to this year’s tour can visit Engage Welland to submit an application form at https://engagewelland.ca/lights-frights-and-sights-2026.

Once the tour begins, residents and visitors can return to Engage Welland to use the digital map to find participating homes and vote for their favourite display.
