Below, you will find a list of the most frequently requested by-laws. They are listed alphabetically within the departments that manage the by-law. By-laws contained in this section are for reference purposes only. Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of this information; however, it is not to be used in place of actual by-laws. Actual by-laws can be obtained from the city clerk’s office.

The City of Welland has a policy manual, implemented in 1994, that coordinates council policies that had been used since the early 1970s. The objective is formalizing consistent guidelines for ongoing city operations covered by the policies, and ensuring situations are handled in a standardized manner.

The City maintains complainant confidentiality, except where disclosure is necessary for a court of law or when subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Should the complaint proceed to court, you may be required to give evidence as a witness.
