Rec Rentals @ the Docks celebrates Welland’s rich history while embracing the future by bringing activity back to the water. Located in the heart of the city, it’s the perfect spot for picnics, gatherings, and canal adventures. With a larger inventory, there’s more opportunity than ever to explore and enjoy the waterway. Stop by and experience all the fun we have to offer!

Rental fees

All rentals include a boat, life jacket, and paddles

Equipment recovery surcharge (per rental) $1.50
Single rider $16
Double rider and specialty equipment $21
EconoPass (15 visits) $210
Group rental staffing and equipment (up to 30 riders) $167
Group rental add-on (up to 10 additional riders) $32
Equipment replacement ree (per replacement) $100

All prices based on a one‑hour rental unless otherwise indicated.

All rentals are final sale. No refunds will be issued.

Group Rentals

Looking to rent Rec Rentals @ the docks for a private group rental! Contact us at recrentals@welland.ca to book your rental.

  1. 30 or more days notice prior to the scheduled rental date a full refund will be issued, less an administration fee.
  2. Between 30 and 7 days notice prior to the scheduled rental date a 50 per cent refund will be issued.
  3. Less than 7 days notice prior to the scheduled rental date no refund will be issued.

Staff-initiated cancellation

If the City of Welland initiates a cancellation of Rec Rentals @ the Docks due to weather or other unsafe conditions, the Licensee will be eligible for a full refund of the rental fee.

Renter-initiated cancellation due to weather

If the licensee cancels the Rec Rental @ the Docks due to weather conditions, the following options are available:
  • Account Credit: The licensee will receive an account credit that can be used for future Recreation, Sport & Culture programs, membership renewals, or facility rentals.
  • Re-booking: The Licensee may choose to re-book the rental for a later date, subject to availability.
The account credit is non-refundable but can be used for future services or rentals, including:

2026 Hours of operation

Pre-season:
Date: June 13 to 14 and June 20 to 21
Time: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Regular season:
Date: June 27 to September 7
Time: Weekdays 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Weekends 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Post-season:
September 8 to October 12
Time: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Code of conduct

  • Be respecful to all users, visitors, and staff
  • No alcohol or illicet drugs
  • Do not use abusive or foul language
  • Do not damage equipment, supplies, and facilities
  • Violence in any form is not tolerated

All users and visitors are expected to exhibit positive behaviour and adhere to the following rules for a safe and enjoyable environment
