The Welland boat rental program is now Rec Rentals @ the Docks. We honour our past by highlighting our former shipping canal and celebrate the future by bringing movement back to the water through recreation. Rec Rentals is conveniently located in the city’s centre, offering more space for gatherings and picnics. Our expanded inventory means more people can enjoy exploring the canal. Come visit us and discover our waterway activities.

Rental fees

All rentals include a boat, life jacket, and paddles

Fees
Single kayak/pedal boat 12.75 per hour
($5.61 for an additional 30 minutes)
SUP/canoe/tandem kayak $19.07 per hour
($9.69 for an additional 30 minutes)
Hydrobike $20.40 per hour
Children (under 12) Free
(one boat, one hour per day)
Adult with child (tandem kayak & Canoe) %50 off regular price
Equipment Recovery Surcharge $1.50
EconoPass $95.47 for 15 visit pass
(any boat, one hour per visit)
Group rental $159.22 hourly

2024 dates and hours of operation

Opening day: Saturday, May 18, 2024
May 18 to June 30: Weekends and holidays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
July 1 to September 2: Weekends and holidays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
Weekdays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
September 3 to October 14: Weekends and holidays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Please note that the last rental of the day is sent out one hour before closing. No rentals are permitted to leave the docks after this time.
