Welland lights up the night with Lights, Frights, & Sights Halloween Tour

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | October 21, 2025

The City of Welland invites residents and visitors to experience Halloween in a new way through the inaugural Lights, Frights, & Sights Tour, taking place from October 17 to 31.

The self-guided driving tour showcases the creativity and community spirit of Welland residents, featuring homes transformed into glowing displays of Halloween lights, eerie scenes, and imaginative themes. Participants can explore the displays at their own pace and cast a vote for the People’s Choice Award, recognizing the best-decorated residence.

"This tour is a fun and safe way for families, friends, and Halloween enthusiasts to celebrate together," said Fraser Mowat, recreation and culture coordinator. "It highlights the creativity of our residents and brings neighbours together in a uniquely Welland way."

A digital tour map of participating locations will be available on the City’s Recreation, Sport, and Culture Facebook page and through Engage Welland, where visitors can also submit their votes for the People’s Choice Award.

As the first event of its kind in Welland, the Lights, Frights, & Sights Tour brings residents together to celebrate local creativity in a fun, family-friendly way. Designed to become an annual tradition, the tour will light up neighbourhoods, inspire community pride, and add a little extra magic to the Halloween season.
