Canada Day Closures

Stay up to date with what’s open and closed this Canada Day weekend. Please note that due to Canada Day being on a Saturday, many closures are occurring on Friday, June 30. As a result, make sure to view the list below to see what is open and when for the Canada Day long weekend. Happy Canada Day!

  • City Hall - All City Hall Departments will be closed on Friday, June 30, 2023, for Canada Day.
  • Public Works - Closed
  • Main and Jack Ballantyne (Youth) Arenas - Closed
  • The Docks, Rec Rentals: - Hours of Operation for June 30 are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Empire Sportsplex: - Hours of Operation for June 30 are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Welland Community Centre
    • Closed on Friday, June 30, 2023
    • Closed on Saturday, July 1, 2023
    • Regular hours resume on Sunday, July 2, 2023

Taxes and/or Water - Payment of bills may still be made by utilizing the drop box located at the easterly front entrance of Civic Square, 60 East Main Street.

Parking tickets - payments can now be made using Visa or MasterCard through our online service at www.welland.ca/parking/onlinepayments.asp (please allow for 2 business days, for your ticket to be processed and added to the online payment system).

In the event of an urgent road, water, sewer, facilities, or forestry problem, please call the City’s 24-hour response line at 905-735-1700 x3000.

Niagara Transit Commission has launched a new consolidated transit system called Niagara Region Transit.

Niagara Region Transit connects all of Niagara through a single transit system by combining the existing Niagara Region Transit, Niagara Falls Transit, St. Catharines Transit, Welland Transit and Fort Erie Transit systems into one transit operator.
