The Welland Community Centre (WCC) offers unique memberships for people of all ages and abilities. Your Active Pass will keep you entertained and learning all year long. Drop in and discover your next favourite activity with an inclusive membership.

Rooms at the WCC are supervised by recreation coordinators who may add, remove, combine equipment, or create programming in any of the below-mentioned areas. Age restrictions may apply for certain rooms.

Ages: 18 and up
Take that old piece of oak and bring it to life. The woodshop features a compound saw, stationary radial arm saw, two belt/disc sanders, grinder, oscillating spindle sander, jointer/planer, band saw, table saw, drill press, scroll saw, router table, and an assortment of hand/small power tools. The fully ventilated room features a vacuum inverter for removing sawdust from the air. The maximum capacity of the woodshop is two persons, and all users must complete the mandatory orientation and be accompanied by a buddy. Anyone using the woodshop must have a valid Active Pass.

Woodshop orientation runs from 10 a.m. to noon on the following 2024 dates:

  • Wednesday, April 17
  • Wednesday, May 15
  • Wednesday, June 19
  • Wednesday, July 17
  • Wednesday, August 21
  • Wednesday, September 18
  • Wednesday, October 16
  • Wednesday, November 20
  • Wednesday December 18

Ages: 14 and up (16 and under must be accompanied by an adult)
The billiards room is ideal for a drop-in game with friends, and comes equipped with three pool tables, cues, chalk, and scoreboards. Additional amenities include seating areas, two dart boards, and a CD player. Anyone using the billiards room must have a valid Active Pass.

The computer lab is a cozy place to surf the world wide web. It’s also an ideal location to broaden your computer literacy skills or complete homework. Anyone using the computer lab must have a valid Active Pass.

All ages
With more than 200 catalogued books and comfortable seating, the library is a great spot to complete a puzzle, flip through a magazine, or enjoy a book alone or with friends. Books are borrowed on the honour system. We receive newly donated materials regularly, so visit often and check out our new titles.

If you have items in good condition and want to donate them, we accept materials for adults, teens, and children. Please call before bringing in a donation and let us know details about the contents.

Code of conduct

All pass holders and visitors are expected to exhibit positive behaviour and adhere to the following rules for a safe and enjoyable environment:

  • Respect the dignity and spirit of all members, visitors, and staff.
  • Refrain from using alcohol or illicit drugs.
  • Refrain from using abusive or foul language.
  • Refrain from causing bodily harm to one’s self, other participants, or program staff/supervisors.
  • Refrain from damaging equipment, supplies, and facilities.
