Children's Dance Class Instructor

About the position

The Welland Community Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Children's Dance Instructor to join our team. As a Children's Dance Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching dance to children of various ages and skill levels. You will create a positive and engaging environment where children can learn and enjoy the art of dance.

  • Plan and conduct dance classes for children, focusing on different dance styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary.
  • Develop age-appropriate dance routines and choreography.
  • Provide clear instructions and demonstrations to help children understand dance techniques.
  • Foster a supportive and fun atmosphere that encourages children to express themselves through dance.
  • Monitor the progress of each child and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during classes.
  • Communicate with parents about their children's progress and any upcoming performances or events.
  • Previous experience as a Dance Instructor, particularly with children, is required.
  • Strong background in various dance styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire children.
  • Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
