Municipal Planning Data Reporting

The City of Welland reports planning application data to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing every quarter, as required under Ontario Regulation 73/23 of the Planning Act.

This regulation standardizes how municipalities across Ontario collect and share planning data. Reporting helps provide consistent information about development activity, including the number of new housing units being proposed and approved, and the timelines for processing planning applications.

Each quarterly report includes information on the following application types:

  • Official Plan Amendment applications
  • Zoning Bylaw Amendment applications
  • Site Plan applications
  • Minor Variance applications
  • Land Severance (Consent) applications
  • Plan of Subdivision applications
  • Plan of Condominium applications
  • Minister’s Zoning Orders
