Join in the fun as Welland welcomes Santa Claus sponsored by Ontario Power Generation
Join us in downtown Welland for the 2023 Santa Claus Parade, Civic Square Tree Lighting Ceremony and a Merry Chili Christmas — three events in one!
This year’s parade starts at 5 p.m. sharp. Route: Canadian Tire Financial Services (corner of East Main and Wellington Streets), West on East Main Street, ending at Civic Square.
At Civic Square, join Santa Claus and Mayor Campion following the parade as they light Welland’s Christmas tree. Enjoy Sing Niagara as they welcome the festive season with a variety of holiday favourites. Mail your letters to Santa at our dedicated mailbox at Civic Square — don’t forget your return address. Take a festive photo in the Betty Loo Photobooth and design a spectacular holiday craft with the Niagara Art Gallery. The Grinch, Cindy Lou, Elsa, Anna, and Olaf will all be there to join in on the fun.
Following the tree lighting ceremony, join us for a Merry Chili Christmas. Enjoy free chili samples and a chili cook-off between Welland’s Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief.
In the spirit of giving, please bring your donations to the parade and help us decorate the 2023 Mitten Tree at Civic Square. Acceptable items include adult and children’s mittens, hats, scarves, slippers, socks and onesies. Toiletries, towels/blankets, children’s toys, canned/boxed non-perishable food items. All donated items must be new. Donations go to Community Christmas Toys
