Canalside Players presents Halfway There
A small town, big hearts, and even bigger secrets
In Stewiacke, there’s no such thing as a secret — especially when the coffee’s hot and the gossip’s hotter. At the local diner, Vi, Rita, Mary Ellen, and Janine know everyone’s business — until a handsome, heartbroken doctor rolls into town and stirs things up. Suddenly, friendships are tested, love lives are tangled, and the women of Stewiacke find themselves rethinking what they really want.
Set in the town that’s halfway between the North Pole and the equator, this warm, witty comedy from Norm Foster, Canada’s most-produced playwright, and directed by Jessica Sweeny, will make you laugh, sigh, and feel right at home.
Be part of the opening night gala on Friday, April 17. Cocktails and finger foods will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by the opening night performance of Halfway There. Cocktails will be provided by NB Distillers, wine and beer by Niagara College School of Culinary Arts. Food provided by Karen’s Catering, vegetarian options available. One complimentary beverage and diner snack box with each ticket.
Regular performances begin Saturday, April 18, at 7 p.m. The Canal Bistro will be open for beverages and snacks, and door prizes will be drawn at every performance.
