Concerts on the Canal: Music Search 2026

Showcase your talent and be part of a beloved Welland summer tradition!
Concerts on the Canal Music Search invites local musicians and bands to take the stage, perform live, and compete for a featured spot in the 2026 Concerts on the Canal lineup. All genres are welcome—just be sure your performance is family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.

The top three acts from the Music Search will earn a spot in the 2026 Concerts on the Canal series. Step into the spotlight and let Welland hear what you’ve got!

Eligibility:

• All participating performers must be 16 years of age or older
• Performers cannot have participated in the Concerts on the Canal series in the last two years (2024 and 2025)

Prizes:

• First place: A fully tracked and mixed song at ToneHenge Recording Studio, plus a live on-air feature on Country 89’s New Music Fridays
• Second place: $500 gift card to Long & McQuade Music Store
• Third place: A band photoshoot with photographer Paul Schmidt

Before you apply:

Before filling out the application, please ensure you have the following ready:

• A short biography
• A high-quality photo
• A short live performance video
• Any technical requirements for your setup

Once your application is submitted, you will be prompted to sign up for a performance time slot. Please ensure your time slot is carefully chosen before confirming, as changes will be limited once schedules are finalized. Time slots are limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Don’t wait — register early to claim your spot and rock the stage in the music talent search!
