A) Vacancies are always available on the City of Welland website and through advertisement that appears in the Welland Tribune.
A) Every employment opportunity has a closing date indicated on the job posting. To ensure your application is considered, your resume must be received by 4:00pm on the closing date. When submitting your resume, be sure to indicate the job posting title of the position you are applying for.
A) No. Union represented vacancies undergo an internal process first in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement. Should this process not be successful, external advertising is then pursued for vacancies.

A) Human Resources is located at the Welland Civic Square on the second floor. The address is 60 East Main Street, Welland, Ontario, L3B 3X4. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

A) The average time to fill a vacancy is approximately 6 – 8 weeks. Please keep in mind that we may encounter challenges along the way that increase this turn-around time and therefore extends this time frame.

A) The job postings close at 4:00 pm on the date listed on the posting. Resumes received after the closing date are marked late and not considered.
A) If you are no longer interested in a position and you wish to withdraw your application, the City of Welland requires you to submit your withdrawal in writing by mail or e-mail.

A) Yes. Casual labourers are hired to work April to October in our Public Works area. There are also summer student positions available.

A) Yes, resumes are collected on an ongoing basis and kept in a general file for six months. If you see a vacancy that interests you, we encourage you to submit a resume to the posting file even if your resume is on file.
