Corporate Communications and Marketing

The Communications team focuses on information sharing in a timely and accurate manner for all audiences: including media, key stakeholders, city staff, and local government. Supporting Council’s strategic priorities, communications facilitates and fosters community involvement and growth, through a variety of communications strategies.

Major responsibilities are:

  • Communications planning, co-ordination, and implementation
  • Stakeholder / community public relations
  • Maintaining appropriate media relations
  • Creating and broadcasting media releases/Social media platforms
  • Establishing communications standards, protocols, and policies
  • Environmental scanning / events awareness
  • Crisis / emergency communications
  • Promoting and marketing the Corporation
  • Working with webmaster / on-going web development
  • Coordinator of information requests through City’s webpage
