Accessible Conventional Transit Service

Welland Transit is pleased to announce the introduction of accessible conventional transit service on Route 3 First Avenue. This brings to 4 the number of accessible conventional transit routes in the City of Welland. Route 3 First Avenue now joins Route 6 Ontario Rd., Route 5 Lincoln-Wellington and Route 9 Niagara as fully accessible routes.

Dedicated Accessible Routes

Routes 3, 5, 6 and 9 are now fully accessible transit routes. This means a Low Floor Accessible bus will always be in service on these 4 routes. This will allow persons who require the use of a mobility device access to the conventional transit service.

Accessible Service on other Routes

Accessible service is available on other Welland Transit routes on a limited basis.  Whenever a low floor accessible bus is in service on any Welland Transit route, persons with mobility devices will be able to access the service. 

WellTrans Registrants

WellTrans registrants now have the option to use both the conventional accessible service or the WellTrans System.  A WellTrans registrant who uses the conventional accessible service will not lose their access to the WellTrans Service.
