City staff are committed to working with residents, business owners, and developers to improve the services related to development. Planning provides an efficient and timely approval process assisting Welland’s growth, competitive advantage, and quality of life. Please contact the planning division regarding the City’s planning applications.

Requesting a pre-consultation meeting is the first step in the planning application process. Before submitting an application, property owners or developers are required to attend a meeting with planning staff. This meeting provides an opportunity for staff and external agencies to understand the standards and expectations for Planning Act applications and to determine other information, studies, plans, and/or related applications necessary for your project.
