City of Welland outdoor pools are now closed for the season

DID YOU KNOW?

  • swim admissions are free.
  • we will evaluate your child’s swimming ability free and recommend the appropriate level for swim lesson registration. Just ask a Supervisor!
  • Lifejackets are allowed, however, children in lifejackets must be within arms reach of adult at all times.
RENT THE POOL FOR SCHOOLS & PARTIES

Memorial, St. George or Maple Park Pools are available to rent Monday through Friday for end of the year School parties, birthdays or just plain old family fun!! To book your celebration, call us at 905-735-1700

About City Pools (all Pools are outdoors)

Maple Park Pool 905-732-3040 located on South Pelham Road between Fitch Street and Thorold Road. The large pool and wading pool have a capacity of 400

St. George Park Pool 905-732-9776 located on St. George Street at the corner of Roach Avenue. The large pool and wading pool have a capacity of 400

Memorial Park Pool 905-732-0684 located on Memorial Park Drive at the corner of Ontario Road. The large pool and splash pool have a capacity of 175. Also, located at Memorial Park is a splash pad.


PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL ADMISSION STANDARDS
* As recommended by the Lifesaving Society and the Coroner’s Office

  1. Children over the age of 7, but under 10 years of age, who are non-swimmers, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 14 years of age and is responsible for their direct supervision. The ratio of non-swimmers to parent or guardian may be a maximum of four bathers to one parent or guardian (4:1). The ratio of non-swimmers to parent or guardian may be increased to a maximum of eight bathers to one parent or guardian (8:1) if lifejackets are worn by all non-swimmers in their charge.
  2. Children under the age of 7 years may not be admitted to the swimming pool unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 14 years of age and who is responsible for their direct supervision, with a maximum of two children for each parent or guardian.
  3. Children over the age of 7, who are swimmers (able to demonstrate comfort in the water and pass facility swim test), may be admitted to the swimming pool unaccompanied.
  4. Guardians or group leaders should be at least 14 years of age. Guardians or group leaders are responsible for the children in their care while in the facility and must directly supervise the children at all times.
  5. Ratios of instructors/lifeguards to bathers must be maintained as per Public Health Regulation 565/90.
