Welcome to Welland’s Good Food Box.

Program:

The Good Food Box provides Welland residents with local vegetables and fruits every third Thursday of the month. It is a community-based project that relies on volunteers for the success of the program. Buying in large quantities from our local producers allows us to get better pricing. That means you get better value!

The Good Food Box can be ordered in two sizes

The small 1 -2 person size box is $15
The large 4 family size box is $20

Why Purchase the Good Food box?

Good Value: We buy in bulk and pass the savings on to the customer.

Healthy: You get a wide variety of healthy vegetables and fruits. In each box there is a newsletter with valuable information, and great recipes. Occasionally we have new and different items.

Local: Food is purchased from local farmers when available.

Fresh: The produce often comes straight from the farmers’ fields to your Good Food Box the same day.

Nutritious: There is a variety of staples and many different kinds of vegetables and fruits. Eating the suggested servings of fruits and vegetables suggested in the Canada Food Guide promotes healthy living and lowers the risk of obesity.

Good Food Box Schedule:

The Welland Good Food Box accepts payments during the first three business days of the month. Payment schedules can be provided by your Host Site Manager. The time in which you retrieve your Good food Box also depends on your Host Site manager.The boxes are packed and distributed on the third Thursday of each month (If distribution day is on a holiday, the next day will be scheduled for distribution) Payments can be made by cash or Cheque at the Host Sites.

What’s in the Good Food Box?

Your Good Food Box will have fresh fruits and vegetables. Typical staples, such as of potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce and apples are usually in the box. But there is more! We will fill the remainder of the box with in-season produce!
